4K matrix switcher 4x2

 Why did I buy?

I have non-smart TV in my room, and I wanted to sync HUE lights to screen.

Unfortunately I needed syncbox,  and it is tooooooooooooo expensive.

 

As well as that, review from the one who has already got syncbox is not good.

(display flash, doesn’t support 120hz…)

 

I kept asking to myself  ‘is it really neccessary?’

After I got answer ‘No’, I still had to find HDMI selector.

 

My TV is old one, so it has only 2 HDMI ports.
However, I got more devices which have HDMI(Google Chromecast, PS4, Nintendo, OTT, laptop)

 

There are tons of HDMI switcher online, and I chose one.
It has good rates and reviews.

It supports 4K of course, but the best part for me is ARC function.

 

I have plan to get Dolby atmos soundbar (maybe Samsung Q950T) soon

I thought if I had ARC port, I could utilize soundbar more.

(Actually, I haven’t used ARC function yet, so I don’t know whether it works well)

 How to use

It has 4 input and 2 output. That’s why technically it is not selector, but matrix 4x2.

I didn’t want matrix in fact, because I don’t have multi display here.

However, if you have multi display, you can switch video sources.
For example you can show PS4 game on 2 different displays.
Or 1 display is for Netflix, using Chromecast, and another one for Nintendo.,

 

Package contains remote. You can switch input and output with remote.

In my case, I’m always sitting in front of TV so I don’t need remote
Moreover I don’t like have many remotes. (TV, Chromecast, OTT, A.C, Fan…. Too many!)

It also has EDID mode. which mean you can adjust EDID, based on output devices.

(I don't know how to use EDID mode well..)

CONS

• build quality is not good
• it looks cheap
• Micro 5pin power (not USB C type)

 

 Should buy?

If you are problem with the number of HDMI input port, Yes it is worthy

If you have enough port on TV, Nope
