Samsung Galaxy S3 Frontier Watch

 Why did I buy

 I like smart wearable device. 

My first wearable device was Galaxy gear fit.

I didn't have any idea of smart band before I got it as present.

Galaxy fit didn't have many function as brandnew one thesedays, but it was cool.

 

Best part was to get notification from mobile remotely.
I rarely used it for workout.

 

In 2016, Samsung released new smart watch which is Galaxy S3.

There were 3 reasons why I got Galaxy S3.

 

1. I can change watch face  as I want.
   Today, all kinds of smart watch can have this function, but it was unique back then.
   
   I don't mean it was the only one, but it was very limited.
   When I joined smart watch community, I was able to get customized watch face like luxious brands.
   I loved to chage watch face everyday.
   
   
2. It has mic and speaker.
   This means I was able to make a call with watch.
   Imagine that your phone is in your room for charging, suddenly someone calls you.
   
   If you don't have smart watch, you have to go and get a call.
   Otherwise if you do, you can talk via watch on your wrist.
   
   
3. It supports Samsung pay.
   If you have Samsung mobile, you know how convenient it is.
   
   In my case, when I get on a bus, I tag my watch instead of tagging a card.
   Which means you don't need to bring wallet or something, but a watch when you are out.

 How to use

I wrote down its attraction as above.
However honest speaking, I don't use all functions.

 

The thing that was attractive before buy, but became useless after buy is Samsung pay.
It seems awesome, but there is critical demerit.

The watch should be around mobile to keep in bluetooth connection.
I'm quite sure that giving mobile for payment is much faster and easier than giving a watch.
Maybe I have used Samsung pay 5times? since I got it in 2016.

 

You might think that there is no reason to buy if Samsung pay is useless.
Partially yes, if you are huge fan of it.

 

However getting a notification and answering it back are very convenient for me.
When mobile is ringing due to call or text, I don't need to hold it , but just quick view with watch.

Or when your hands are dirty because of work or something, you don't need to touch a phone.

 

You might want to use it during workout, but I don't recommend it.
I has short battery life, so if you turn on gps for tracking, it doesn't go with you to the end.

 PROS and CONS

PROS

• Making a call is possible

• Getting a notification 
  

• Changing watch face as much as I want

CONS

• Quite thick and heavy

• Useless Samsung pay
  

• Short battery life (3days at first, 1day now)

 

 

 Should buy?

Today we have lots of alternatives like apple watch or mi-band.I haven't used apple watch yet, but pretty sure that main function is similar.

 

So point is design and price, I guess.
Anyway smart watch is really good item.
